Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a mostly dark brown color with a light tan foamy head that trickled off at a decent pace. Sliding roaming lace.
The aroma had a sweet roasted maltiness rolling into some sly sweet nuts and bread. Slight earthy hoppiness.
The flavor was mostly malty sweet with a slight roastiness to it. Nuts and bread came about slightly. Aftertaste was bready and nutty. Finish was basically the same.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed a bit lower and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, I didn’t mind this brown ale, probably could slug back a few pints on a late Summer’s afternoon or early Autumn.

12 oz bottle from the brewery. Used my Newcastle glass. Deep, rich brown poor with tons of carbonation. Very thin small off white head. Not much lace at all. Nose of caramel and nuts. Taste is much the same. Not going to get you real excited but… it would be a nice session brew if you live in NY. It’s a very standard and straight forward Brown.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of MaltDawg. Thanks! Sampled at the 11th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 4/17/10. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a large brown head that fades quickly. Aroma of brown malts, caramel and faint plum like fruity notes. The taste is bitter hops, nutty notes, some caramel and a milky note. Medium bodied. Pretty decent.

Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and a light touch of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and straw, leading to a dry and slgihtly bitter finish. A fine brown ale. Thanks to my friend Lez White in Baltimore for supplying me with this one.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a dense, beige head. Lightly nutty nose. Medium body, some notes of nuts and tobacco...? The finish is dry. 270607

Pours like a root beer float. Tall chunky head of tan colored whip cream (no cherry) over a rich brown body. Faint malt aroma. Lightly sweet, palate is somewhat watery.

Brown ale with a strong diacetyl aroma. Buttery taste, with sweet malt, no hops and nutty notes. A rather plain and unimpressive brown ale, with a definite diacetyl problem. Bottle at at the CNY Brewfest 2006.
