"Grab your darts and let's go!" This is a dark ruby red porter with a medium body. A slight hint of smoke is detected from a small portion of grains used that are smoked with beechwood. Pale, chocolate, black and crystal grains are also used with Northern Brewer and East Kent Golding hops.

Enjoyed in Vermont. Pours a dark brown colour with a beige head and minimal lacing. Mild coffee notes with roasted malts. A little smokey hints. Not so much in the taste. Flavours of fruity and roasted malts. Decent porter lacking in the taste department, and just a little smokiness.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was bacon, malty, a touch roasty and a bit of smoke. The flavor was dryish and a bit malty with wood, smoke and a touch of bacon. Long smoky finish. Medium body. Ok.

Pours a solid dark brown with faint ruby highlights at the edges and a decent white head that quickly dissipates to a cap on top. Smells of smoked ham and bacon mostly, with hints of chocolate at the edges. I honestly have trouble fining much else underneath the smokiness of the aroma here. The flavor is a little better, but not much. Smoked ham with hints of charcoal and ash as well as some chocolate and earthy hops. The smoke flavor here is sharp and acrid and overpowers everything else in this brew. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a bitter smokey mouthfeel. Iβm not a big fan of this one in fact I will avoid this if at all possible.

It pours a deep dark brown and has a nice one inch speckled off white half inch head in my nonic. Foamy speckled lacing graces the sides of the glass. The smell has the smoky chocolate up front coming through in an ashy/coffee sort of way, reminds me like Iβm smelling the charcoal from a grill. The taste is smoky and full of coffee bitterness, slightly woody and ashy again. That \"meatiness\" from rauchbiers comes out in the taste. The palate is medium and crisp with a dark bitter aftertaste and finish. There is nothing harsh on the tongue. This is pretty sessionable. Overall, this is decent for the style, but honestly Iβm not fond of it.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, anise, licorice, coffee, nuts and a lot of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Strong anise flavour with a lot of roasted malt, coffee, nuts and a touch of soy sauce and permanent marker - no smoked notes at all, just a deep burn and strong licorice flavour. Aftertaste deep and strong with the roasted malt, burnt coffee beans (a la *$) alcohol and anise flavours dominating with a touch of decent camalised sugars on the back end. Overall, a strong and rather underwhelming beer, but it has a lot of flavour - just not great flavours, especially for this style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 27-November-2011 for US$7.95/6pack, sampled at home in Upstate New York on 25-May-2012.

A clear brown porter with no head. In aroma, a strange beany chocolate, a bit off and unpleasant. In mouth, a smooth peaty chocolate with light acidity lingering, watery and boring. On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill, April 7, 2012.
