Bottle. Oak, molasses, chocolate, roasted barley malt, and dry hay aroma - great. Black with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet molasses, chocolate, roasted barley, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Decent body. A great stout.

(5.4.2011) --> Noten: 12,6,10,3,1,6 - 6,50

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a nice brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light smoke peaty malt with roasted coffee notes. Taste is a great mix between some peat malts with notes of roasted coffee and a light touch of black chocolate. Body is about average with good carbonation. Love the light smoked peat notes on that one.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Poured black with a light brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was quite smokey with plenty of roasted malt. Flavor was slightly dry with roasted and smoked malt and a bit of coffee.. The beer was a bit thin for my liking.

A very solid dry stout - the addition of the peat smoked malt gives it a strong, earthy, smoky character that lends itself well to the dry, roasty qualities of the beer - it is fitting that there are roots on the bottle, because the beer tastes of the soil - a lot of dry cocoa character arrives late, and lasts through the finish - long finish of smoke and wood - really nice.
