Grand River Galt Knife Old Style Lager

500ml bottle Bottled on 2/12/09 from HogTownHarry. Nose of flowery hops and caramel. Gold with a medium tall wheat colored head. Flavor is moderately bitter with a little balancing sweetness and caramel. Excellent Lager!!! Very floral nose!

A golden lager with a thick lacing white head. A crisp caramel malt aroma with light restrained hops, lightly floral. In mouth, a smooth crisp malt, with light chalkyness, and sustained British hops. Medium bodied. On tap at Wellington Gastropub, Sept. 30 2008, 5.50$ pint.

Golden-amber with a thin head and nice sparkle. Full malty aroma with light caramel accents. Rich, chewy, with pale munich malt, toasted biscuits and earthy caramel. Dry, woody, earthy finish.

This lager poured a dark yellow colour with a great looking off white foamy head. From a growler purchased at the brewery. The nose has scents of orange citrus and sweet malts with an additional floral hop. First taste was very hoppy with an immediate bitter bite. Although not quite as bitter as the Ploughmans Ale it is a little milder. Bitter finish with a bitter hop palate. Slight citrus aftertaste. A little too much like the Ploughmans Ale. I was hoping for something different than the Ale. Great beers but not to drink too much of, I find the hop flavour a little too bold for more than 1 pint at a time.
