A huge, sweet Barley Wine with complex caramel malt notes, balanced by generous hopping and a high alcohol content. This fruity and malty beer is best enjoyed while keeping warm in the brutal winter months. January release.

Bottle. Grape, pineapple and pine hops aroma. Hazy orange-brown with minimal head. Sweet orange/pineapple flavor up front with a long lasting pine hops finish. Nice balance - neither the sweetness nor the hops were overpowering. A great barleywine for hops lovers.

I thought this was an ipa before I starting drinking. There is a great floral hop aroma. Very little carbonation, and a dark gold color. Flavor has flowery hops like a pale ale, but there is also sweet caramel malt flavor and fruit. Thick and full on the palate. Excellent beer.

(sampled at the Düsseldorf RB gathering) Hazy, reddish amber colour with a short, frothy off-white head. Dry, resiny hoppy aroma with subtle fruity notes (dark berries). Bitter flavour with a soft malty sweetness, full bodied, creamy mouthfeel; aromatic and dry hop-character with fruity and floral notes. Great.

Bottle (@ D’dorf Gathering) Amber coloured, mid-sized, quickly diminishing off-white foam; fruity and extremely resinous-hoppy nose; strong bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied; strong bitter-sweet finish with lots of hops sticking to the tongue. Very nice, well balanced stuff.......

Bottle at the Düsseldorf Gathering. Quite clear amber body. Off-white frothy head. Fastly diminishing head. Aroma of liquor, american hops, oranges, ... Quite well balanced and a good complexity in the aroma. Harshly bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Good complexity as well as the balance. Nice hop character.

Gut! /10/9/9/12/10

kp’s Fest of 26. The body is dark amber/cherry with a thin head of tan. Complex aroma. Raisins, caramel, brown sugar. Sweet and strong with a balancing hop bitterness. Smooth. Age some of this if you can.

Nose is of hops and dark fruit with a litle caramel maltiness; cherry-brown with a minimal beige head; thick body with some hop bitterness, dark fruits, caramel, and a little alcohol.

Bright, clear copper pour with thin head that quickly disappears leaving tight-knit bubbles floating on top. The nose is strong and filled with grapefruit, overripe fruit, nuts, earthiness and alcohol. The flavor is a nice balance of bitter hops, sweet brown sugar, caramel, leather and citrus. There are notes of earthiness and a peppery bite from the alcohol. The palate is thick and chewy. The long aftertaste starts bitter and finishes sweet. It leaves a nice coating of resinous hops. This is a barley wine for hop lovers who appreciate depth and balance. Another excellent beer from Three Floyds.
