An Imperial Red Ale dry hopped with Summit and Simcoe. What are we calling it? You guessed it, Dirty Hippie. It weighs in at 8%, 95 IBU and has a whole lot of hoppy goodness balanced with a nice malt backbone that you would expect out of an Imperial Red. Does it really smell like a dirty hippie? Come on in, grab a pint and decide for yourself.

Bomber from IrishBoy. Thanks man!! Pours clear copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is roast malt with pine. Flavor about the same with some mixed hop indications. Nice hoppy amber - mild hop burn - but smoothly done.

Bottle thanks to Irishboy! Pours clear reddish amber with a small tan head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is that red ipa smell of caramel, citrus and pine, not getting a ton of simcoe. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel.

On draught during the Citra release on 02/01/2013. The beer pours a bright copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering resinous hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draft at the Citra release. Nose is heavy pine with citrus and light caramel. Clear reddish amber with a small offwhite head. Flavor is very piney with light touches of lemon and caramel. Extremely hoppy for an Irish ale.
