Good dark brown pour, with a small beige head. Nice nutty aroma, solid cereals, touches of toffee. Flabby mouthfeel, very soft carb. The finish is a touch astringent, medium bitterness, and a little bit of roast.

Flight pour at brewery. Pours clear pale dark brown with white head. Aroma has light roast malt. Flavour has watery malts. This need not exist.

Bomber between five at the July 2016 Shrewsbury Bottle share: bought by me while in California. Very dark brown with big beige head. Aroma was of caramel semi-sweet malts with a mini sourness . The taste was not as sour as the nose intimated and a smooth, chocolate flavoured Brown Ale was enjoyed indeed. Highly carbonated but overall a very pleasant beer from a part of Canada unknown to be beer wise.

Bottle @ monthly tasting at Chez Sophie, July 16, courtesy of bladdock. Many thanks! Pours very dark brown with big off-brown bubble bath head. Aroma is smooth caramel malts. A bit over-carbonated and a bit thin, but nice chocolate malts lurk underneath. Not bad.

A clear dark brown ale with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light nutty notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with light coffee notes, nutty notes, light bodied, a bit cloying. Bottle from LCBO.

This was poured into an English pub glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy dark brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some light messy lacing here and there.
The smell started off with some nice nutty smooth to caramel toasty and toffee combining and allowing a light coffee to blend nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet and allowing a nice roasted nuttiness to blend nicely. There’s barely any aftertaste but a sweet nutty finish running about.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nicely as there’s a good somewhat creamy smoothness over my tongue.
Overall, for an English Brown ale this one is really good. I’d definitely have this again.

Purchased at Binnys in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at home on a lazy Monday night. This was discounted by more than 50% off, and I can see why. Appearance is cola brown with a light white rim. Aroma of maple syrup, chocolate, ovaltine, and caramel. Taste just isn't good, very carbonated syrupy flavor, not enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a tan head. Malt and light toffee aroma. Caramel and light citrus flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel and light citrus linger with light darker malts.
