The champagne-like bubbles, distinctive hop bouquet, and balanced character of Liberty Ale revives centuries-old ale brewing traditions that are now more relevant than ever. First introduced in 1975, Liberty Ale is brewed strictly according to traditional craft brewing methods, and uses only natural ingredients — pale malted barley, fresh whole-cone Cascade hops and a special top-fermenting yeast, and water.

35,5cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours deep golden to amber with a slightly creamy off-white head. Mild malty aroma with fruity and hoppy notes, citrus, caramel and hints of herbs. Moderate to medium sweet with fruity and herbal flavours and a moderate bitter and slightly dry finish. Decent APA, but not as refreshing as I remembered it.

Famous ale launched in 1975 to remember Paul Revere’s ride in 1775. Creamy, sticky head, warm orange blonde colour; delicate aroma, fresh fruitiness (peach, orange), soft sweet malt taste with fruity and citrussy accents and a long finish of dry-hopping with Cascade, very pleasant. Flawless and perfectly balanced, this lived up to the expectations I had of it.

While staying at my daughters place on holiday (Orange County) I thought would try plenty of local beers and secondly ’well thought of, multi rated’ beers of America that I had not drank before: this is one of those in the later category. Bottle on the balcony: 8th July 2014. Golden amber body with a full white head. I expected more of a hop blast to be honest, this was subdued and almost subtle in nature. Mildly citrus hops blended with some floral notes and a malty background in the nose and then on into the taste. Maybe having it side by side with a Victory Hop Devil did this beer no favours: even so this still didn’t carry enough character to merit a high score from me. I bit disappointed with a beer and brewery I have heard only good things about.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad vätska med tjockt skum. Blommig doft med en persikoantydan. Mycket fruktig smak med en skön beska.

Tap at RJ. Aroma nicely hoppy, fruity, orange, resiny, caramel. Clear orange colour. Short lasting head. Taste is going in the same direction. Really typical American ale, good, unimpaired by long journey. I like it, very good.

Bottle, 0.355l. Cloudy amber color with small, totally diminishing creamy off-white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, pine and caramel malt. Taste starts with light sweet toasted malt, follows by citric and grainy sourness with mild medicinal or alcohol notes, mouthfeel is crisp, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, dry texture and lively natural carbonation in palate. Nicely balanced APA...

From bottle to glass. Living in SF and having had this beer on numerous occasions, i feel like it always misses the mark a little. Herb, earth hops and biscuit malts on the nose. Beautiful crystal clear gold with full white head that lingers. Taste is earthy and slight pine. Overt malt dominates, more like an east coast style as it overshadows the hops. Thinnish mouthfeel.

piękny zapach kwiatów i skórki z grapefruita. nalewa się lekko zmętnione, jasnozłote. w smaku wyraźna goryczka, przypominająca grapefruita, ale i dość pełna strona słodowa.
