Bottle courtesy of Hackobock. Pours hazy deep bluish red with a small pinkish white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is fruity with crackers, lemon juice, raspberries, blackberries, yoghurt, dry soil and lemon zest. Taste is sour and fruity. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, slightly astringent and light bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, lemon juice, raspberries, minerals and lemon zest. Simple and quite tasty.

Bottle at De Garde, pours a deep dark purple with a small purple head. Aroma brings out lots of black raspberry pith - not much else. Flavour is similar, with earthy notes and pithy black raspberries. Ample tartness, with a pithy earthy dryness on the finish. Good, but not one of their better ones.

Draft - Dark Berry and a touch of wood. Deep purple with a pink head. Lots of Berry, light sweetness, Woody notes and a light tartness. Nice and well balanced.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy purple with a big but short lived dark pink head. Aroma of fresh tart blackberries with a light funk and clear saltiness even from the nose. Flavour is heavy acidic and moderate salty. Medium bodied (a huge body considering the ABV) with light carbonation. Way too acidic.

Thanks! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ the “pre-Club 54 tasting”. Colour is spectacular, very deep purple with a very dark raspberry pink coulis head. Spectacular. Nose is huge raspberry colulis, real fruit, some dark wild berries, wild raspberries, fruit sweetness, pretty spectacular,… Taste is thick sorbet, wild raspberry, coulis, wild dark fruits, light salty character, sour sorbet,… Very juicy, body,… Awesome. Easily best De Garde beer so far & prob. best Berliner Weisse for me.
