Nice deep dark copper coloured body with a deep amber and almost brown glow and a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of malt, sugars, lemons, raspberries, citric acid, caramel and a bit of cranberries - not too potent on the fruit here. Medium-bodied; Assertive malt and caramel flavour at first with a hint of fruit and grapes near the end with only the smallest hint of cranberries at all here. Aftertaste is more thin than the initial taste and very one-dimensional - some malt and a touch of sugars, not much else. Overall, not such a great beer and missing a great opportunity to have a nice beer to pair with anything related to Thanksgiving. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$2.35 sampled at home in Washington on 19-January-2012.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was faint tart berries and a touch of nutty malt. The flavor was nutty and a touch roasty with a faint vague tart berry note and a sour tangy finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with small off white head that leaves spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is cranberry and wheat. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt with cranberry and sweet finish. A decent fruit beer from Harpoon.

I’ve seen this on the shelves the last few years and never thought once about buying it. This year someone left a bottle at my house, so I guess this is the year. Pours a medium copper color with a good sized white head that displays moderate retention and lace. Smells malty with caramel and brown sugar and that distinctive aroma of cranberries. Smell is sweet and fruity and not bad actually. Taste is exactly what I expected from the aroma. Brown bread, syrupy, caramel, cranberry sauce. It was fun at first, but about half way down the glass I got real tired of the fruity sweetness. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation, sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. One sweet and fruity beer that I’m glad I got to try, but that I can pass up again next year.

12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours a clear rust color with a large fizzy tan head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of cranberry, pomegranate and grainy malts. The taste is cranberries, cherries, faint bready malts and a faint bit of roast character. Bitter earthy hops. Medium bodied.

Pours deep clear amber into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Bread and nut aromas. Sweet cranberry upfront turning to bitter twigs in the lasting finish.

Sampled in the Harpoon brewery taproom. Light grain aroma. Amber, offwhite cream. Light fruity grain. Ok body, not much power.
