A bit of nail polish up front. Kinda dry sweet I. The middle and an unmistakable smoked profile in the finish. No rum at all. Wouldn’t drink this again.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 27 Nov 2017) Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, with foamy white head. Fruity nose with notes of apples, citrus and apple sauce. Fruity, fairly sweet taste with tart apples, citrus, a touch of oak and a slightly sweet and tart finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and warming, fairly drinkable for its strength. Quite nice.

Cask at the cock. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with no head. Aroma is sharp acetic, edgey, tangy, sharp granny smith,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, crisp, funky farmyard, brown sugars, tangy vinegar,. Palate is semi sweet woody, harsh acid, prickly, mellow carbonation. Not a fan.

Cask at Cock Tavern. It pours golden with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, juicy, oily, wood, earthy, must, barnyard, somewhat medicinal and dark fruits. The taste is bitter - sweet, juicy, oily, tangy, fruity, oily, pithytangy, some acidity, jammy berry, Victoria sponge with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body and flat. Fun, but a bit harsh.

*Old rating, on cask. Very interesting combination. Sourish tart apples with hints of sulfur and wood with vanilla and raisins. The rum is somewhere there, vanilla and wood - smooth and round - on the one side and sourish dry apples on the other side. Not bad.

On cask @ Craft Beer & Co Clerkenwell. Cloudy looking one, kinda golden yellow in looks with a tiny cask bubbly white foamy film on the top. It smells of sweet apples, lots of wood. Woody vanilla and it kinda smells dusty and tart all in once. It's more sour and wood oriented in the taste. Green small fresh apples, wood. Sweeter towards the finish. Not bad. 15.08.2015
