A great golden beer with a fresh citrus, hoppy aroma. This wonderful wholesome organic ale has a dry and bitter finish which brings you right back to earth.

Backlog July 2015. Clear golden body under a fast-disappearing white head. Aroma of grain and butterscotch. Taste is sweet malt, butterscotch and slightly bitter. Medium body and same aftertaste. Not very successful.

500ml bottle. Gluten Free. Golden colour, foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of citric hop, grassy. Taste is sweetish, biscuity malt, grain, fruity, with some tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry citric bitter finish. Quite OK

Bottle from Asda. Pours a clear light golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of grains, citrus lemon, bread, biscuits and a hint of herbal. Taste has more citrus lemon, bread, grass and more herbal notes with a long hoppy bitter but not harsh finish. Thinnish body, low carbonation and smooth oily mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle from Tesco. Exudes a pleasant aroma of fresh hops and lemon. Pours a plae lemon yellow with a transient frothy white head. Low carbonation and a watery texture. Lots of hops in the mouth – but not the kind I like ! The kind that have a taste resembling used ash trays. Finish is slightly less hoppy. Do I really have to drink the rest of this bottle ? Sigh. { Wouldn’t call it a golden ale either. A pale ale or an IPA }

500ml bottle BBE May 2021. Pours a straw pale colour with a white head and advertised on the bottle as a Pale Ale no doubt for this reason. Malt, citrus and hop aroma. Nice level of carbonation on the palate, smooth also and not too watery so good body. Taste of malt, bread, a moderate sweetness and a bitter crisp finish. It’s not absolutely packed with flavour but there are some subtle notes, it’s extremely well balanced and has good body. Excellent session beer.

Cloudy blond appearance with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have some slightly old, dusty notes. A touch of apple peel bitterness. Bitterness grows in the aftertaste.
