Not quite what I expected as an oatmeal stout that are usually thicker, almost sweet stout like, this was sufficiently black, but way too much light was allowed through the glass. Almost no head, bitter coffee and toffee flavors, not enough sweet malt flavor, almost porter like. Not a bad beer, but not the best oatmeal stout ive had.

A deep dark stout with a thick dark brown head. In aroma, a light chocolate and hops, smooth. In mouth, light smooth powdery chocolate with dark fruits, not bad. On tap at Boston Beer Summit, Jan. 15 2011.

Pours black into a Sam glass. Mocha head quickly recedes to nothing. Dark chocolate syrup aromas. Thin with dark chocolate from front to back. Mild sourness in the lasting dark oatmeal finish.
