Versions may be bourbon barrel aged for a varying number of months or served un-oaked. Smells of black licorice, bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malt, warming alcohol and dark fruits in silky smooth body.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, thin layer of foam. Nose of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon. Taste is roasty, raw and alcoholic, not very well balanced.

#22/270 bottled 2015, shared by Airforcehops on 7/9/17.
Deep, dark, inky ebony. Dark beige head is small and fades quickly to ring.
Bourbon-heavy nose with tons of toasted oak and vanilla. Picks up rum raisin-like notes and ends on a mix of strong vinousness and somewhat sharp, strong alcohol. Well, were this a glass of bourbon, I'd be a lot more excited. Unfortunately there's supposed to be an Imperial Stout here, I thought....
In the mouth it's not quite as overdone as the nose would imply, though there's still far more bourbon and oak here than actual beer. Strong vinousness/dark fruit character throughout and a strong, sharp alcoholic finish that finds charred roast and alcohol further cutting through an already underwhelming body. Low, loose carbonation and not nearly enough malt depth.

22 oz. bottle in a trade with jtclockwork. Bottle number 22 of 270 in the 2015 vintage. Small fast dying white head. Aroma is oak, mild bourbon, anise.

The flavor is huge on toasted oak. Mild roasted backbone that seem a tad thin in the mouthfeel. Oak lingers through the the sip. Bourbon is mild, lots of oak. Overall, rough around the edges.

Bomber from AFH. Totally BlCk. No head. Nice alcohol legs on the glass. Smells fantastic. A load of dark chocolate, vanilla beans and whiskey. Very akin to BCS.whoa. Oak bomb there’s very little body or flavor after the oak. Vodka? Man. This is rough.
