La Curtius is a blond beer brewed using premium quality products, recognizable through its light taste and refreshing flavors. Composed with different barley malts and wheat, its base gives it a pleasant lightness while the addition of aromatic hop blossoms provide a subtle bitterness in conjunction with a flowery and fruity flavor. Its unique and progressive taste is the result of multiple fermentation steps, conducted over several months. Curtius deserved a quality and prestigious bottle suitable for the contents. This is why we chose a 37.5 cl corked bottle, just like champagne. Of course, Curtius is also available in kegs.

Lett tåkete gulbrun med lavt hvitt skum. Lukter honning og aprikos. Middels fylde. Fruktig smak, aprikos og tørket frukt og noe lett bitter sitrusskall. Middels lang. Tørr. (Grûnerløkka Mikrobryggfestival 2019).

Bottle at Delirium Brussels. Pretty, cloudy blond with a low head. Light lemon and rich malt nose, biscuity. Bready, malty flavor, spicy yeast, lightly spritzy with soft, German-like malts. Nice but this was freaking expensive.

Tap @ Belgian Beer Weekend, Hibiya Park. Pours lightly amber, clear-ish, frothy white head. Nose is lightly Belgian, some yeast spices and caramel. Taste reveals caramelly and relatively sweet body, light herbal bitterness in the background. Drinks OK, not my favorite but nothing bad to say about this either.

Tap into a tap showing moderately filtered pale straw with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of clean sweet notes of lemon and flower. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Light Belgian yeast forwardness with a mild bitterness that reins in the sweetness. High alcohol.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, wheat, hop. Taste: Medium sweet and medium hoppy, grain, wheat, notes of white sugar, yeasty and banana hints. Long lasting bittery palate at finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Easy drinkable blond beer with some complexity. Not that special, but quite nice. I like the balance between the grain, wheat and hop.
