Single from Bottlecraft North Park. Pint glass at home.
Thick, heavy, black on brown pour, tall tan head.
Smell is strong, sharp, honest coffee. A little lactose, some burnt sugar, a little soot.
Thick, astringent, brutally bitter coffee. Some subtle chocolate notes & bright fruit in between all the burnt soot on the bitter endtrails. I love coffee of all kinds & this is intense.
Medium high acid, creamy, a bit warming.
It's brutally direct, but does taste good if you like strong flavors that lack refinery.

Dark brown, thin head. Lots of coffee on the nose. On the palate, this is medium body, big coffee and a bit of nuttiness. Definitely more of an easy-drinking impy, but some pretty good coffee and malt character to it.

Poured from 473mL can. Very dark brown with small grey-ish beige head. Tons of dry bitter roast malt, some cocoa powder, weird feint metallic fruity note in the background. Lacks some cohesion, but okay.

The Aromas are cocoa, coffee, roast, dark malt and a hint of vanilla. No off notes. Flavors aren't quite as balanced or good as news and are a little more bitter than sweet coffee seems a touch old and a long bitter boozy finish along with a bit of metallic.

Bottle pour from Valley Beverage Company. Appearance is opaque black with thin cap of light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong dark chocolate and coffee, dark fruits with brief whiff of alcohol. Taste is rich chocolate, coffee, mild dark fruits, alcohol covered well. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, the sweet and bitter are well balanced so, rather than getting too much in either direction, you really get a focus on the richness of the flavors.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice bitter bakers chcocolate with some roast malt. Flavor is all equal parts coffee and chocolate with a nice roast and bitterness. This is a extremely flavorful stout, maybe a bit too bitter but this has plenty of chocolate and coffee.
