Bottle. 22oz. It pours a dark brown, close to black in color and with a dense, tan head It’s quite mocha-ish on the nose, with roasted malts and some soy and licorice. It’s full-bodied and very soft on the palate. Roasted malts, mocha, a nice hoppy bitterness and some chocolate chip cookies in the flavor. The aroma had hints of soy and licorice, the flavor too, but they’re even vaguer in the flavor. There’s brown sugar too, but it’s not really sweet on the palate. The finish has a good dash of brown sugar and hoppy bitterness, as well as mocha and roasted malts. Sure a nice one, especially like the soft body and the mocha, but it still feels a tad boring. Considering the low ABV it’s very nice though. 150607

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14
Aroma: It has a sweet porter aroma with some chocolate, roast, and a little honey
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown colored head
Flavor: The flavor is clean and sweet, but not overly so, with minimal bitterness
Palate: This one has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this one was a nice, smooth, creamy porter. Maybe it is a little bit too sweet, but overall, I enjoyed it. It certainly has a nice mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours deep brown to black, large creamy brown head, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty malts, ashtray, cardboard. Flavor is light sweet, weird artificial smoke acidic flavor, light bitter, kinda yuk really. Medium body, highly carbonated.

Tap at the brewery - a very solid robust porter - chewy body - a nice balance of sweetness, roast, and moderate bitterness/acidity from the darker malts - hints of plum/blueberry - kind of leafy/earthy/mushroomy late - lingering, roasty finish - really solid.
