Bottle courtesy of the wonderful Peter Fowler of Shoulder of Mutton fame Wantage, consumed in the field at Cropredy Fairport festival Friday 9th August 2013 Pours hazy dark brown, touch red maybe no head. Cherry comes across very nicely, combining well with the base beer. Nicely sour, fruity and tangy, really enjoyable. Soft in mouth, nice tartness about this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

33cl bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Deep ruby with a lasting pinkish beige head. A limited fruity cherry aroma. Yes it has some cherry fruit over an ok malty beer with not huge character or complexity. Some dryness on finish is interesting. It’s ok. A slightly fruity beer. Fine, but I was OK.

330ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Ruby brown colour, pink tinged foam beige head and aroma of roasted malt & dark fruits. Taste is roast malt & dark chocolate with fruity sour cherry and some biscuity bitterness. Tangy, foamy mouth feel, medium bodied, well carbonated, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle from Trembling Madness. Tries to creep out of the bottle. Pours dark brown with a slightly pinkish head. Aroma is rather cherry. Med body. Flavor is malty cherry. It’s decent, but it’s not a kriek, it’s not a sour, it’s not very bitter. Basically it seems to be a tasty fruit beer. Not bad.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with purple tinge with tiny off white head, fruity aroma, quite heavy carbonation which doesn’t quite sit right with this style of beer, I prefer a more mellow bubble, the taste for me has dried fruits marzipan. Adequate.
