Pours deep amber brown with a lingering head. It smells of caramel malt and spicy yeast. The flavor is sweet and caramelly, too one note until it warmed some and the Belgian yeast character came out more. Alright.

This dark ale poured a dark amber colour with a big, creamy, tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Scents include alcohol, ripe fruit, molasses and a hint of nail polish remover. First swig was smooth, creamy with a medium sweetness and a full body. Flavours of ripe fruit, warming alcohol, sweet roasted malt and toffee. Finish is lightly spicy with rich toasted malts heavily lingering.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Ann Arbor Eisenhower, 3/20/16. Dark brown, thin coffee colored head, good retention. Aroma of cherries, dark fruits, toffee, yeast, molasses, leather. The taste is chocolate, nuts, toffee, anise, spice, cherries, lemon. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation, lingering spice moderate booze.

Location: Bottle shared at Max and Andy's Tasting, 2/28/15

Aroma: It has a malty and light spice aroma, some caramel, and a bit of fruit
Appearance: Murky brown colored pour with an off-white head
Flavor: The flavor is pretty sweet, there's a little spice, but not enough else to balance it out
Palate: This one has an average carbonation, medium body, and a slightly sticky close
Overall Impression: Pretty decent one overall, but there just isin't anything here to provided the need balance/depth beyond the malty sweetness.

Bottle pour to Trappist glass. Dark, dark brown/black. Not much aroma upon opening, but got some toffee and molasses when warmed up. Interesting: Simple on initial sip but more complex as I got to bottom of the glass. I guess that’s what’s meant by the "intense warming finish" in the commercial description. I bumped up the score as I drank. A pleasurable beer.

Bottle. Murky opaque deep brown body, thin to medium beige head. Plummy nose, lots of chewy toffee and brown sugar, also circus peanuts and bubblegum. Warming alcohol notes. After some initial prickly alcohol heat, the toasted sugars, plum, bubblegum, and clove notes take precedence. Finishes rather dry with lingering clove and hints of band-aids. Overall this is quite enjoyable.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a light tan head. Strong raisin aroma with molasses, roastiness and smoke, almost a cocoa, green grape perhaps. So good.

Bottle thanks to Daniel! Pours a near black with a bubbly brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of roasted malts and a bit of coffee backed by dark bread and a hint of candied sugar. Flavor has musty dark grains and musty roasted malts with some candied sugar and a hint of earthy moss.
