Draughts around Boston, Winter ’14-’15
Strong white head atop the clear golden-copper liquid. Don’t remember the correlation between hop oil and head retention (would think it inverse, but that dosent seem to be the case here).
Citrus and mild pine-like acidity in the nose is more redolent of wintergreen and herbs than actual resin-like pine. Heavily "leafy", which I suppose is just to say, fresh, green, herbal and spicy. Quite nice! The malt comes out more in this one than in the others, probably on account of it being less resinous. No alcohol or flaws.
Maltiness is immediatley apparent in the flavor, adding a good dose of honey dough-like sweetness. Probably just a factor of seeing it called Oil, but the texture does seem rather slick, not in a bad way, with floral notes, light citrus and plentiful herbal notes. Bitterness is moderate, with the acidity certainly noticeable, but kept in check by the malt. Enjoyable, if somewhat less bright/crisp than I would have hoped for.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Sunny golden amber pour. Aroma is very deep woodsy herbaceous hoppy and almost smells like food - maybe French fries, as odd as that sounds - but not in a bad way. Taste is also deep woodsy resinous hops - like the essence of some west coast IPAs but lighter and more focused on that one flavor. Not bad but a bit too much in that direction. Interesting to try but wouldn't get again.

500 ml bottle poured into a Jack’s Abby snifter. Bottled 1/7/2015. Clear golden yellow with about a finger of frothy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of grapefruit citrus, subtle tropical fruit, caramel, biscuit, floral. Tastes of floral, hop oils, grapefruit citrus, caramel, biscuit. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Medium-low carbonation. Pretty good!

Draft at the brewery. Slightly hazy appearance with very little head. Aroma is mostly grassy and herbal with light grain.
The flavor start with the grass up front with a grain base, giving the brew its backbone. The finish does show a slick oiliness that comes across herbal in character. Body is on the light side of medium without any bitterness to speak of. Hops without the bitterness. Good on draft but may not translate well in a bottle.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Mint and weed aromas. Soft with wood and thin fruity summer fruit upfront turning to mild bitter earth and yeast in the dry, lasting finish.
