The palest body and wheat make for the “lager” of the ale world -- almost as light as you can get. As an American wheat you get a subtle citrus from the hops, instead of the heady bready notes of a German hefeweizen with banana and clove or the Belgian spice of coriander and orange--it’s a simple clean wheat that gets a moderate boost of body from the wheat.

Straightforward wheat ale, a little more of a classic German hefe than hopped-up American version. Soft vanilla and clove, gentle citrus undertones, good on a hot day while wandering around beachside shops at Vero Beach.

Crisp, ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, pale white head that fades fast and leaves just about nothing on top. Aroma of grass, wheat, light herbs and a hay-like note without anything coming from the nose, aside from some slight sweetness from citrus fruits. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and wheatie profile at first with a good dose of yeast and grain and only a touch of herbal elements, with some bitterness from flowers and yeast that has hints of bread towards the end. Aftertaste is dry and malty with the yeast, wheat and alcohol coming through at the end, without any hops, sweetness or real characteristics or complexity to help out. Overall, a dry and very floral profile without much else aside from some wheat and yeastie, breadiness. Not a great beer, but at least enjoyable in the heat of Florida, even during Winter! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from the Marina Store in Flamingo, Everglades National Park, Florida on 27-December-2020 for US$1,75 sampled at my hotel room here in Sanibel, Florida on 29-December-2020.

yellow and baby blue can. From total wine & more for $2. Pour is ever so slightly darker than pale. White foamy head. Taste is not too bad. I was thinking about wheat ale but its much better than straight up ass wheat ale. Yes, there is a tad of that wheat ale feel in there, but its not hoppy or bitter at all. Its quite friendly and easy to take. I'm not comfy with the name of this company, islamorada, but what ever. I guess I got to go do a little historical research into the name of this company. Just worried there is some brain washing chemicals in it. I hope not, and I also hope I'm not called an islamaphobe. Well, now I see its actually the name of an island. So I guess I got to go find out why the island is called islamoroda. Also I guess islam means purple in spanish? Hey, you learn something new every day. How quaint.

Draft at pizza place. Light gold. Wheat nose fruity esters. Tastes of wheat, light pepper, citrus and pale malt. Thinner but pleasurable enough.

[12oz can from Jerry's Foods, Sanibel, FL.] A pale amber pour with a loose white head; aroma of grain and yeast; orange citrus taste with a grainy body; and a fresh fruity finish. Rather good.

Pours light and clear amber with a thin white head. Immediate aroma of lime and oranges. Taste is light and slightly hoppy, definite element of citrus. Palate contains coriander and malt. Not bad.

These kinds of Americanized wheat beers have been the exact kinds of beers I've disliked over the years. They sit middle of the road between flavorful craft beers and bland light beers, sometimes an obvious pandering to people who don't like beer who find themselves at a brewpub. But this one surprised me. It has a nice medium mouthfeel, pronounced bready, wheaty, and lemony aromas and flavors, modest bitterness, and overall nice drinkability.
