My take on a porter with a reinforced hop character: 50 IBU for only 5.2-5.5% ABV. Almost the hop charge of an IPA, but with a solid dark, roast malt backbone, Brewed once or twice a year.

bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Switzerland. pours dark brown, creamy tan head. aroma, nice citrus hops meshed nicely with a light malt nose and lemongrass. flavors, malty, citrus/grapefruit hops leaving a nice bitter sweet finish. Addition of caramel, coffee and lasting grainy mouthfeel which is perfectly coupled with the citrus side of the hops. Bitterness covers the palate and is followed by a nice blend of roasted malts. Light and tasty IPA.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has strong notes of citrusy hops, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, dusty hops, and caramel, leading to a dry bready finish. Thanks fiulijn for this beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy amber with a huge beige head leaving laces. Perfumy, citrusy hop aroma. Medium body, sweet caramel and fruits with an astringent and almost leathery hoppy finish. 161209

2012-09-29, bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, 6% ABV, bb 12-2013, 7-4-7-4-14=37
Dark brown color, with short head retention. There is a mild but very nice aroma of fruity hops, that cover some dusty roasted malt. Good flavor of roasted malt and caramel, lean body, with a strong and quality hopping, resiny; some more roasted malt in the end. Very good.
2009-04-03, bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, 5.3% ABV, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Brown color; finally a beer from this brewery with a good head, medium sized and correctly compact. Light chocolate aroma. Good mouthfeel, quite strong body, strong chocolate flavor with roasted malt; good bitterness. Ends with more roasted malt. Quite powerful for this gravity, very good.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Nut brown, rich airy head. Grapefruity nose. Light aroma of nutty roasty malt. Dry with good amounts of grapefruity American hops. Notes of coffee. Long resiny bitter finish. Another solid, flavourful beer from Trois Dames!
