Bottle 37.5cl. caged and corked, bought 11/16, bbd 09/34 @home poured into a teku glass. Sour nose. Slightly hazy medium amber colour, small frothy off-white head, slowly dissipating, fair lacing. Aroma brett, wood, peach, gooseberries, farmyard. Taste medium sour and slightly sweet, brett, wood, grapefruit, unripe peach, gooseberries, yoghurt notes. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation, lingering dry sour and sweet aftertaste, fruity notes, well-balanced, mild sourness and certainly not too acidic, easy to drink, very good.

Holzig säuerlicher Beginn, weich, wobei die Säure zum Mittelteil aber noch ansteigt. Spritzig, Limette, schnell passend trocken werdend. Trocken säuerlicher Abgang, grasig, wenig kräutrig, langer Nachhall. 10/11/12/11/8/11

Bouteille (375ml): Golden, hazy, unusually big and stable white head, moderate sour aroma of apple vinegar with a delicate bitter tartness underneath; moderate sour flavour, mild bitter tartness, delicate residual sweetness, medium bodied, astonishingly soft; lingering sourish-fruity (apples) finish with both a delicate tartness and a mild balancing bitterness. Not too complex, but very well drinkable...

0,375l bottle at home. BB 02.09.2040 (so I assumed Bottled 2020). amber almost clear color, small to medium big white head. smells funky, citric, grassy, wood, light blue cheese, spices, grassy, peppery. very nice smell. full body, somewhat fizzy carbonation. tastes somewhat sweet, bit soapy, grassy, earthy, tobacco, herbal, hay, spices. finishes lightly dry and a bit sour and sweet with notes of funk, grassy and spicy notes. quite nice one, still a bit young, a bit too much on the sweet side. overall qutie good one.

The cork needed no encouragement to explode out of the bottle once the cage was removed. Not a gusher though. This is quite a subtle Geuze with a soft mouthfeel and low to moderate tartness. Just a little barnyard funk on the nose. Adding the yeasty residue seems to add a touch more spikeiness.

Look: Cloudy gold, moderate white frothy head of decent retention. Aroma. Soaked apples, horse blanket, autumn leaves, honey, somewhat wild. Taste: similar to what is mentioned above, dry, medium plus sour, tart Palate: light to medium body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: pretty good, maybe not so complex as some Geuezes are.

Bottle, bbf date december 2029 so I preaume this one is from december 2019. Color: Clear golden, big white head. Aroma: Tart, sweet and sour white berries, hay, farmyard funk. Taste: Moderate sweet and light to moderate tart, hay, fruity notes of sweetish gooseberries, wild yeast farmyard-like funk. Wood. Dry mouthfeel. Quite sweetish finish for an Oude Geuze. A little too sweet and lacking some complexity and flavors compared to other Oude Geuzes, in my opinion. Ok though.
