Tasted as part of the gueuze tasting led by H.ertie. pretty solid gueuze, still a bit too young. More lactic than funky, some sourness. Clean and easy, but way too much carbonation.

37,5cl bottle (BBF: 23/05/2037, 7%) as from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: big, white, good retention. C: gold with orange hue, hazy. A: nice citrus fruity, barnyard, green gooseberries, woody, bit brett. T: medium malty base, lemon, woody, bit green apple, peach, bit higher carbonation, brett, decent herbal bitterness, quite nice balanced for the style, enjoyable beer for sure.

From bottle at In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst with JFE 06.10.19. Clear golden. Persistent white head. Fruity and acid aroma and taste of brett and citrus acid. Perhaps also a slight hint of furniture polishing.

Bottle from Delices and Caprices. The usual gueuze appearance, clear golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sharp and vinous, nice funk, strong grapefruit, bit bread malt. Taste is lovely, grapefruit and lemon and sour at the beginning, goes into touch of fruit, strawberry maybe, and nice flat creamy finish. Very spritzy in the mouth. Very nice.

2000 bottle. Golden color. Honey in the somewhat cheesy aroma. Low on carbon. Sweetish, slightly sour, vinous flavor with plums and cheesy notes. Well matured, bad sadly based on a sweetened geuze. 6 4 7 4 14 = 3.5 2011 bottle, tasted september 2013. Corked bottle. Honey color. Lemon and peach in the aroma. Soir oaky flavor with lemon and hints of honey and peach. Well balanced, friendly yet sour geuze, not too complex, but very nice to drink. And not a trace of the sweetness found in the 2000 geuze.

375ml bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Drunk after rowing along the river on a hot summers evening. Cork pops off before fully unwinding the cage. Bit of a snowstorm in the glass, misty gold. Nice effervescence, good fruity gueuze character, tart with a gentle sourness. Decent, but nowhere near as crisp and zesty as Boon's standard gueuze.
