Tap at ZBF. One of the better Pilsener brews of Belgium. It got some fruity candy taste and some sweet hoppy aftertaste. At last found the bottle version at the Schans, Uithoorn. This one got more caramel taste, and looks darker.

Bottled. Hazy goldeny orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is yeast, some grains, vegetables and mild spicy notes. Flavour is grains, some bready malts, mild herbs, yeast and some dusty and earthy notes. Not that good...

Bottle. Gold to light amber color, creamy head. A hint of honey i the aroma. Orange and honey in the flavor, combined with just a bit of hops. Tastes a bit like a diluted Girardin geuze white label, but certainly has complexity and a fine flavor. A pleasant surprise, but hardly a pilsener. Tap@ Oude Pruim Beersel. Golden color, hazy. Floral aroma with a hint of citrus. Floral citric hopbitter flavor/ Cellar aftertaste with a hint of citrus. I could swear there were some bretty notes.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orangy color, small off-white head that diminishes almost instantly. Smell and taste malts, grainy, slightly a hint of tart. Meh. Don’t like it.

25cl Bottle from Vonk. Hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, light malts, quite sweet. Flavour is malty, wheat, light spicy, banana, later more grainy, light bitter finish. Light bodied. Like a Weizen-lager cross. Not bad.

Girardin is renowned for its excellent lambic and geuze, so it is all the more surprising that they also brew this pale lager; however, it seems they use this to dilute the white label geuze they make, and frankly, I do not see any better use in it. Still, a more than decent ’pils’, malty sweet with a slightly smoky hint, light on the tongue with a subdued but honest and refreshing hop bitterishness in the finish. In all, way better than your average macro standard lager.
