Sneakbox is our 5.4% American Pale Ale. A highly drinkable Jersey favorite, Sneakbox is made with 100% Citra hops, and pours a hazy golden yellow, with a citrus aroma that finishes smooth, dry, and crisp. And if don’t know, now you know: A Sneakbox is a small boat that can be sailed, rowed, poled, or sculled, typically used for hunting waterfowl. The first Sneakbox was invented in West Creek, New Jersey back in 1836 by Captain Hazelton Seaman. Our Sneakbox beer is as versatile as the boat it gets its name from.

Fresh can from Stacey, drunk 7/18/18.
Mostly clear to lightly hazy, pale, straw-blonde with a good-sized, white head showing modest retention.
Fruity, tropical, lively nose shows citrus and pineapple, as expected, and is clean with no resin, light cracker and biscuit. West Coast in style so no juice nor any fruity-bubble gummy yeast.
In the mouth it begins with a light, tropical kick of fruitiness that is enjoyable and bright. Some bitterness begins to creep in there and quickly builds up until this is even pushing the boundaries of how bitter I want a beer to be, especially at just 5.2%. It's clean and snappy, well-attenuated and showing engaging carbonation. Quite dry, with pine, grapefruit, lemon and pineapple. No juice or any terribly juicy fruit character. The pineapple and meyer lemon-like notes help mitigate some of the harder citrus character, but I still think it's too bitter and dry.

16 oz. can thanks going to Stacey for picking this up at the brewery. Aroma is grapefruit rind and mixed citrus. Pale grain. Flavor has a great amount of citrus with a mild danky pine in the finish. Bitterness is assertive but not overbearing. Nicely dry mouth feel. Real good.

Got in a BIF from MacMalt. 16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 2/22/2018. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, lemon, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, peach, lemon, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, lemon, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is an amazing American pale ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; extremely smooth and refreshing to drink with the very mildly bitter/drying finish. Definitely NE style with an amazingly soft mouthfeel. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hop complexity; with perfectly balanced pale/wheat malts. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. The Citra hop showcase is perfect.
