'Gula' is vraatzucht.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour are strong with medicinal herbs and spices. Very sweet. It’s really like cough syrup.

Bottled. (2013 vintage, 10 % abv). Deep hazy brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel, some mild toasted notes as well as some yeasty and mild spicy notes. Flavour is quite similar, with also some nice malty and alcoholic sweetness to it. Also some mild burnt sugary notes in the flavour as it gets warmer.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy brown with a small short lived tan head. Aroma of menthol, heavy herbal, caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Floral notes coming out in the palate with sweet overripe dark fruits and figs. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

The first beer made by Zeven Zonden but brewed at Gulden Spoor, referring to gluttony as the first of the seven sins, hence the name of the beer company. Creamy, pale beige, thick head, dark brown colour approaching black; not too strong aroma, some coffee, bitter chocolate, dates, blackcurrant, peat. Soft and creamy palate with dark and candied fruits, smoky touch, finishing in a roasted bitterness more reminiscent of bitter chocolate than of the usual coffee. Interesting.

Bottle @ weekly tasting. Dark red-brown color, virtually no head. Aroma has quite a lot of herbs and sweetness. Taste lightly malts, sweetness, lots of herbs or spices. Average to medium body, soft carbonation. Not my thing.

Thanks to Man-ki for sharing. 2012 Vintage. 33 cl. bottle sampled. Pours a very dark brown, blackish, very uneven and patchy mocha head. Smell is very interesting & very heavy, crazy amounts of very sweet spices, liquorish, dried grape vines, herbs, jagermeister. Intensely sweet dark liquorish taste, very sweet dark malts, jagermeister, dried grape vines, strongly herbal, the type of chocolates that have strong liquor in them, red grapes, overripe red grapes,… Going towards creamy, less carb. Very unique, almost too much but I appreciate it. Love or hate brew. BBF 12/2015.
