24.03.2018, 0,375l bottle (2016 vintage) shared with Desverger @ Himmeriget:
Small slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet mineraly, dark malts, bloodlike minerals, bark, oak, weeds, whisky, hay, toast, paper, old rope, hints of mild peat. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, oak, peat, minerals, whisky, bark, grass, hay, paper, dark malts, toast. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish peated mouthfeel. Fair enough, not really my cup of coffee.

375 ml bottle in a trade with Jstax, thanks Jeremy! 2016 vintage. Pitch black appearance. Aroma is scotch, light peat, chocolate, leather hints. The flavor has the mild smoke with subtle leather. The scotch is mild with some light dark fruit notes. Body seems to have thinned out. Overall, the imperial stout seems thin but I enjoyed the flavor a lot.

375ML from AFH. Split 3 ways in stemware. Thick syrupy appearance in the glass. alcohol legs, dark brown to black. small he'd with a thin line. Very smooth aroma. scotch barrel, vanilla, pineapple, dried apples. Flavor. really light for an 11% beer. Lots of burnt wood, very smooth, a mild table sugar and apple and cinnamon. Solid beer. amazing how well the ABV is hidden.

Bottle drunk at Eataly, 2/2/17.
Clear mahogany with a ruddy amber hue and wispy, dark beige-tan head.
The scotch is quite prominent in the nose, though not dominant. Well-attenuated notes of cookie, light coffee and milk chocolate lie behind it with low alcohol and no flaw. The spicy scotch character is a good foil to the malt and they’ve kept the roast pretty low here which would be otherwise kind of odd against the Scotch.
Lightly sticky, caramel and chocolate forward body with strong nuttiness and bread character. Light acidity and tannin from the barrel with spicy Scotch and low roast. Very dry, as Jackie O’s stouts are, which is appreciated. Light alcohol warmth, but nothing out-of-place for the style, nor is it sharp or boozy. Well-made but like the other Dark Apparitions, for me it’s a little too subdued.

Sample at the brewpub during Jackie O’s 11th Anniversary Extravaganza on 01/06/2017. The beer is an opaque brown-black color with a medium foamy khaki head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, roast malt and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky scotch, earthy malt and mildly bittersweet chocolate. The finish is oaky and peaty with a scotch and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
