Our dark and decadent Baltic Porter aged in brandy barrels with orange peel. The lengthy conditioning period in the barrels creates a silky smooth chocolatey mouth feel enhanced by the use of oats and brown sugar during the brew process. Noticeable sweetness gets balanced by roasted malt and hop bitterness. Additional flavors include bourbon, oak, and spice.

Bottle: drank this over a long period of time. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is boozy, slight hints of orange, chocolate and sugar. Super smooth body. Booze is well covered in the taste. Some sweetness. Lingering malty and slightly chocolatey aftertaste. Orange is only vaguely noticeable in taste. Ambiguous liqueur taste is more prominent. Quite good.

500 ml bottle, I believe a 2016 vintage. (No markings on neck or label). Very deep brown color, some ruby highlights. Aroma shows me earthy chocolate, mild orange peel, subtle Brandy. Flavor is orange and chocolate, warming Brandy after the sip. Alcohol not distracting in the flavor. Hints of oak. Body is correct for the style. Very nice sipper.

Bottle from Colonial spirits. Solid black in color with a thin bubbly tan head that slowly recedes. Roasty earthy chocolate with bits of licorice and light orange. Hints of brandy and oak on the nose. The flavor is fruity up front with the orange mixing a bit with the chocolate notes and giving a hint of apple. Chocolatey roasty comes next with a hint of tannin and alcohol warming. Creamy smooth silky velvety mouthfeel. Thick body with a light level of carbonation .At first I thought the orange a bit weird but as I sipped on this for a bit I really came to enjoy it.

Bottle at home for start of NHL playoffs. Rich dark brownish black pour. Nose is chocolate and light orange peel. You get cocoa, espresso, fig, nice little orange peel, some wood tones. Some brandy heat. Slick palate touch oily.

Draught at the brewery, 4/23/16.
Dark brown-mahogany with darker ebony throughout and light clarity on the edges with a tan head that quickly subsides.
Not sure if you get any of the orange in the nose, perhaps just a hint of citrusy rind. But mostly it’s given to the brandy-like dark fruit, vanilla and tons of chocolatey-tinged roast. More "dry" on the end, with brown bread and light caramelized brown sugar-like notes.
Orange is very light in the flavor, giving more of an acidity and mild citrus character than any actual fruit/juiciness. Definitely gives the effect of a chocolate covered orange, or milk chocolate with orange. Quite nice, actually, and the orange and dryness plays nicely with the "sweeter" brandy notes and dark fruits. Low carbonation and ample, as usual, with no flaws and a light alcohol dryness on the end that mixes with the light bitterness from the orange. Slightly tannic and with hints of wood but mostly a mix of the dark fruits, chocolate and light vanilla.
