Can shared by a friend Barrel aged in maple syrup barrels it is a deep cola black with a wisp of a beige head. Big chocolate some boozy heat and maple in the aroma. Full bodied with a Smokey maple and semi-acrid black patent malt finish. Good stuff. 3.8

Draught at the brewery, 12/22/17.
Dark ebony-mahogany, good clarity with a large, tan head showing moderate retention.
Coffee character is quite fragrant and well-done, nicely integrated with the base malt which mixes in to give a prominent caramel character. Molasses-like notes abound, stemming from the roast and maple interplay, as well. Not boozy for its size and no big fudge/syrupy sugar notes.
Dark roast coffee, sticky toffee, light raisin and more molasses in the mouth with light-to-moderate acidity emerging towards the end with more help from light prune and cigar notes. Earth, ash and strong roast linger though it's nicely balanced by the maltiness. On the sweeter side, but still shows good attenuation. Soft, slick-to-malty texture with light but engaging carbonation and lots of roast-like acidity lingering. No flaw and well-concealed on the abv.

Pours a dark, oily, cola-black, with smallish tan head. Aroma of roasted grain, maple syrup, chocolate. Flavor is maple syrup, coffee, roasted grain, chocolate, dark fruits (raisin/plum). Very smooth, with a slight touch of sweetness. Very nice beer.

Can. Says blended barrel. Not sure if this should be a new rate - pours dark brown tan head - nose and taste of maple, chocolate and sweet malt - medium body

Draft at Bissell. Appearance is a brownish-black color with fast diminishing head. Aroma is mild roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of chocolate syrup, mild roasted backbone. The finish is roasty with mellow amounts of maple. Alcohol is mildly noticed. Decent overall.
Very boozy. I can appreciate it, but not a huge fan personally.
