Bottle, 330ml from a new place in between the Market Porter and Wheatsheaf next to Borough Market on 11th Sep 2014, sat outside with a barrow for our table. Black colour, or very close to black, small tanned brown head. The aroma was semi-sweet malty, caramel, light toast and chocolate biscuit hints. Flavour is fruity with those same malt feel as the smell. I thought the body a little thin for a ’good Stout’ although every thing else seemed fine.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel and roasted malt. The flavor is skunky with notes of bread and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Cotteridge Wines. Pours clear, dark brown with a moderate, creamy beige head. Dry dark bread in the nose, some ash and earth. Light sweet flavor with tobacco, earth, some dried berries, faint leather, dusty cocoa. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Light sweet finish with dry chocolate, subtle roast, a bit of wet tobacco, burnt leaves. Nothing special but OK.

330ml bottle. Dark ruby red glowing brown colour with average, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, tan head. Intense coffee/espresso aroma, roasty dark malty. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, minimally grassy and metallic; closer to the non-lasting finish a bit watery.

Bottled. Quite close to pitch black colour (very deep rubyish black) with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is caramel, mild toast, some chocolate cookies and mild "crackers". Flavour is mild ripe fruits, some toast, caramel and mild raisins as well. A bit thin in the body, but still quite much aroma and flavour to it.
