Was called Old Father Timer for a while but has now reverted to the original name.
Wadworth’s winter beer. Rich copper brown in colour with a strong malty aroma and a full bodied, intense flavour.

Bottle. Dark bronze/brown beer with a strongish head. The aroma is malty and roasted, and the flavour is bitter, roasted and toffee with a hint of yeast. Overall a reasonable beer.

[cask at Sweeney & Todd Pie Shop, Reading] Red-copper colour, tiny white head. A spicy bite at first is soon overtaken by fudge. The typical Wadworths farmyard flavour comes through for a bit, followed by wood and some brazil nut maltiness. It has a smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel, with very little bitterness. Flavours are a little muted for a beer of this strength, but it is pleasantly drinkable.

This used to be a regular cask conditioned tipple at Cropredy Music Festival each and every August which always felt strange as I always felt it was more of a winter beer. A dark brown beer that is both malty in aroma and taste, also very fruity and with a nice biotter finish used to get 4 pint jugs of this lay back listen to the music and slowly get merry.

Quite aged bottle Clear, deep amber, small off-white head. Very malty, oxydized nose, with a weird chlorine streak. Oxydized , malty, biscuity, and a very sweet, sugary finish. Just a touch vinous, higher alcohols. Light, alcoholwarming, dryish finish all the same. Time has not been clement on this one - never meant to age?
