Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Pours a deep ruby red color with a medium pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sour cherries, funky yeast and malt. Light-bodied with a tart cherry character and notes of yeast, doughy malt and berries. The finish is moderately tart with a sour cherry aftertaste. Really good all around.

Bottle shaded by George & Sam in Chapel Hill. Got the dumb basket out & everything. Gracias.
Murky, dark cherry, lingering lace.
Dense dark cherry, macerated, subtle spice nose.
Thick cherry skin, fleshy fruit, peach acidity, savory spice, bit of crayon, kinda weak nuance; just dense cherry. Amazing cherry & white pepper thing going. Over time it didn't develop much but surprised how fruity it still is.
Prickly carb, lovely tolerable acidity, bittersweet essence lingers.
First time having Pepe.

(re)sampled in 2023. Pours darker amberred. Small ring of bubbles for a head. Scent is aged candied cherries, almond, shining brightly on the schaarbeekse-specific qualities. Taste is sharp, tart, balanced acidity. Oak, funk (still very recognizable cantillon) overwhelmingly specific on the schaarbeekse (almond, cherrie, pits) . Medium body, medium to medium high carbo. To say this has held up well is a major understatement.

9/XII/23 - 75cl bottle @ BBGG winter 23-24, BB: n/a, 2008 vintage (2023-1164) Thanks to Benzai for sharing the bottle!
Clear red to red brown beer, small creamy light pink head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: lovely smell, very fruity, so much cherry smell still left after all those years! A little funky too. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, lots of cherries, very intense, really nice, love it! Aftertaste: super fruity, lots of cherries, only slightly oxidated. Very nice one!

Pestkowe wisnie z nalecialoscia kibelk. Wytrawne mocno, duzo bardziej niz swiezsze. Bardziej w kierunku 3f schaarbekse. Robi wrazenie.
