This spiced red sour beer marks the final release of the inaugural year of our Culture Club. We started with two 16-month-old barrels of the red base beer used for Storm Watch and paired its subtle rye bite with a blend of mulling spices, rooibos tea, and dried apples. While blending the beer, the brewery took on the familiar holiday aromas of hot apple cider simmering on the stovetop with cinnamon and spices. Enjoy hot or cold... your call!

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of stewed apples, mulled spices, a little balsamic, and oak barrels. Flavour is loaded with stewed apples upfront, followed by balsamic, mulled red wine, spiced tea, and oak barrels. Loads of stewed apples, balsamic, oak, and woody notes. Complex and well-balanced. Surprisingly excellent.

Light brown, with a bit of haze, no head. A bit of oak on the nose, and some fruitiness. Light plum and pear notes, with cherries (almonds). Lots of lactic tartness, with a bit of wood. So a bit acetic. Actually this is quite good, with a blast of acetic wood notes.

Bottle: Poured a slight hazy dark golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light oak, faint apple notes with some spiced tea notes also noticeable. Taste is an interesting mix of sour notes with some acidity noticeable, faint apple notes with some spiced tea. Body is above average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but would benefits form lower acidity level.
