The traditional sour beer uses the wild yeast found around the farm. This gives the beer a soft, refreshing sour taste. After a year of aging on a barrel this beer is ready for consumption. Each batch of Zure van Tildonk is carefully aged in our cellars at the Engelburcht Monastery for several months prior to release.

Bottle - Apple, white grape and wild yeast. Clear gold with no head. Tart grape with some green apple and a very nice finish. A great sour that is light and mild without constricting the throat. Absolutely perfect for a novice to the style.

Tap at Max’s 4/27/14. Copper, approaching amber body. Thin white head. Wow. This is an awesome sour. Long lasting sour tastes. Clean, rich malt. A pinch deeper than typical. Big sourness. Pineapple, sour candy fruit. The aroma isn’t so great, but the flavor in phenomenal.

Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Sour and light dust aroma with light lemon. Sour and light acetic flavor with light citrus. Medium bodied. Sourness and malt lingers with light citrus and light earthiness.

Bottle. Pours with a quite clear pale hued pour with a quick to fade white head. Aromas are of of apples, really old white wine vinegar, oxidation, floral notes, sweet, honey. Flavors are moderately sour with a young brett cherrio character, malty, toasty, apple, oddly vinous. Not offensive, but not very good either. Mildly acetic on the finish, but overall, only lightly tart. Lively bubbles. Not worth the $12+ sadly.

Süß säuerlicher Antrunk, wenig hefig. Intensiver werdend, erstaunlicherweise spritzig werdend. Merkwürdige Mischung, zu der noch der Chardonnay kommt. 8/8/9/8/9/8

375 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with white bubbles. Aroma is sort of sour. Sour what? Light stone fruit? Med body or so. Flavor is definitely fruit quickly followed by lots of sweat sox/barnyard. Finish is yeasty/sour/earth/fruit. No argument about sour here.

Bottle offered @ gmellison. Got this bad boy in a trade. Thanks Luke. Pours a cloudy dull yellow orange appearance with a white head. Super musty and dusty, damp basement, a bit cheesy, bright lemony aroma. Flavor is hay, funk, lemon/tangerine, and juice. Really a lot of funk. Moderately tart and sweet. Kind of fun.
