Draft at Arendsnest. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of smoke, bacon, burnt malt, grass and light citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. More rauch beer than black saison. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Tap @ de molen, small sample. Clear ruby color, short off-white head. Aroma of some roast, bit peppery, slight red fruit, some clove and black pepper. Bit sweet, bit bitter. Bit strange combination, but quite nice.

Taster size glass from tap @ In De Wildeman.Very dark color (not quite black), with a reddish hue. Huge beige head, dense, with good lacing. Aroma’s: from the glass - resinous hops, fruity, peppery; retronasal - malty sweet, sweet fruit, banana, , light resin. Flavor is fruity, lightly sour, with some sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes herbal, resinous, but hardly bitter. Interesting, might as well have been a dunkelweizen.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Dark brown color, medium sized beige to light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, some fruit influences. Hard to describe, unlike any other saison I’ve ever had. Full body, medium carbonation.
