Deep brown with a bubbly off white head, sweet caramel and a hint of spice on the nose. Taste is of rich fruitcake with a long, dry and slightly bitter finish.

Firm, lasting head. Aroma and taste both have malt, raisin and licorice. Good lacing. Alcohol burn. Some roasted malt and oak. Great strong ale. Cask: dark brown color. Marmalade fruit and some earthy hops in the aroma. Red fruit jam, bitter cookies and earthy, citric and flowery hops in the flavor. Malty, slightly alcoholic, full bodied. A firm peppery hopbitterness in the aftertaste. Delicious!

Thhis is the prototypical english ale that all others should be based on. It’s not my favourite style, but it is a malt forward beer. I imagine that fresh it would be a full step higher in quality. D &s dresden

500ml bottle. Pours a clear red-copper with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt, toffee, bread, raisin, fig, dried red apple, honey and nuts. Sweet flavour of toasted caramel malt, bread, raisin, honey, nuts, metal, ash and light spice with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Excellent, a world class ESA.

Creamy off white head stayed on an unclear light brown still body. Caramel & malt aroma. Medium to full bodied, very creamy on the palate & a tickly clean back. Dark chocolate, coal, faintly smoked, peat & caramel tastes with a bitter pithy citrus finish

Bräunlich rötliche Farbe mit beigem Schaum. Malziger, fruchtiger Geruch.
