Bottled. A brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of cognac, wood, alcohol, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, cognac, and wood, leading to a dry woody finish.

Opaque black - brown beer with a good pale tan head. Nice mellow cognac and dark malt nose. Palate is light and semi dry. Smooth and easy going dark malt. Trace of wood. Very nice sweet and mellow cognac. Whisper of spicy ester. Semi dry finish. Quite simple for BA beer but this works well.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deep ruby with a medium beige head. The nose is mellow....roasted malt, earth, toast, vanilla, coconut and wood. The taste is roasted malt, earth, bitter bite, wood, cocoa, cognac, alcohol warmth, spice and a touch of burnt plastic with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy drinking and mellow. Decent.

Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Enjoy the rarity, friends. Pours clear, deep brown with red highlights, and a good, firm beige foam head. Dusty chocolate in the nose, some dark candies, hints of toasty toffee. Medium sweet flavor, lots of dry wood, some hints of earth, dirt, light alcohol, baking cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Quite dry to finish, charred wood, further baking cocoa, subtle roast, dirt. Quite mellow overall with nice flourishes here and there.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an opaque brown with a rough off-white head. Very subdued roast and a soft woody edge. The roastiness grows a little in the flavor, but still it’s only a medium-bodied beer. Some molasses and licorice with a little alcohol heat late. 060413
