Our Summer Saison is a delicious golden farmhouse ale, brewed with orange peel, ginger, and grains of paradise. A very refreshing, Belgian-inspired summer ale.

Bottle. Light yellow hazy color, some lacings. Aroma of yeast, citrus, tone of coriander and ginger. Taste is citrus, yeast, some hoppiness without being bitter, finishes dry albeit wattery. Body is lightish, average carbo. A bit weak for a saison.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 05/11/13.
The appearance has a hazy golden yellow colored body. Lacing slides in the chalice but clings in the pint glass.
The smell has orange peel up front combined with coriander, ginger and hops. Some lemon comes out more so as it warms.
The taste is mainly citrus, yet spicy and somewhat refreshingly sweet.
The palate is about a light to medium, sessionable, appropriately carbonated and for my liking.
Overall, I’m starting to really warm up to this style, As this was very well done for the style and for me.

A hazed golden saison with a thick lacing white head. In aroma, crisp grassy malt with herbal hops, catty notes, OK. In mouth, a smooth fruity malt with light lemon and curacao notes, a bit light, OK.

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy, straw colour. Thin, lasting, white head. Aroma is pineapple, some lemon. Bread dough too. Taste is zingy, dry and lightly spicy on the finish. Good, spritzy body. Dry finish, with no bitterness. Liked this. Restrained, which is a nice change?

On tap at Salt Tears in Boise. Slightly hazy pale straw color. Small off white head. Soft very faint light grain aroma. Lightly spicy flavor. Take and subtle but very nice. A touch of banana at the end and a little listener bitterness.

Little note of 7-Up when I first pop the cap. Cloudy yellow color with lots of bubbles in the center feeding a puffy head, after pouring in a New Belgium tulip. Smell from the glass is coriander, some lemon and green hay. Spritzy and spicy taste, the usual tartness of a warm ferment, wheat in the grist, and yup, some orange peel. Plus plenty of malt, making this a pretty hefty brew. Some yeast comes back up from my throat. My bottle is finished long before I want to be done with it.

Bomber - highly effervescent golden pour - aroma is surprisingly sweet, with strong orange and ginger - some musky qualities underneath, but mostly smells like wheat malt and orange juice - frothy carbonation - some acidity up front, but then a surprising amount of sweetness shortly after - was hoping for something snappy and crisp, but this is actually fairly thin, with a watery texture - tastes like wheat, neutral yeast, sweet orange - very light earthy, dusty character at the end, but otherwise a pretty bland and disappointing experience.
