Panda at home, thanks to Graham/Grumbo, 15/10/23. Hazed chestnut brown with a light beige cap that soon vanishes. Nose is vinous, stewed fruits, spice, bourbon, oak. Taste comprises big bourbon vibes, fruit cake mix, booze, spice, touch of honeycomb, dates, figs, toasted brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid sipper with a good level of complexity.

Tasting at Brian's
Dark amber colour. Ginger? Maybe. Malty? Maybe. Moderately sweet, mild bourbon, strong booze.
Uncoordinated.

473mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a tiny biege head. Aroma brings out lots of gingerbread spices, some barrels, and toasted caramel. Flavour is very floral, with lots of perfumey gingerbread, heavy bourbon and some caramel. Seems a bit oxidized. It's okay - not a fan of the gingerbread.

Hazy, medium amber. Rich syrupy malts, a basic barley wine aroma. On the palate, there's ginger up front, with a light syrupy malt note. It's decent, but the base is basic. I do, however, like what the ginger does to liven up the body, and bring a little bit of nuance to it.
