22 oz. bottle shared by Adam. Thanks man! 2017 vintage. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, rye. Flavor is mild cocoa powder, spice, with really great balance. Mild warming after the sip. I bet this would have been amazing 2 years ago. Real nice.

Dark brown/black colour, small golden head. Thick and full bodied, slightly slick, but not too much. Aroma is lots of bourbon barrel, boozy, rich dark chocolate, some sweetness. Dominated by the bourbon. Taste is nice. bourbon is more subtle but still there. Slight bitterness, quite chocolatey, bourbon at the finish. Porter like fruitiness and a bit of roast, but bourbon really dominates. I like it though.

Bottle from Secreta Santa. Just a touch lighter as the regular Blackout Stout. Raisin, malt and a hint of oak in the aroma. Oaky, raisinny, alcoholic flavor with roast, plums, blackcurrant. Some earthy hops and oak in tthe finish. The barrel aging indeed adds warmth and depth to the beer. Very well balanced.

Black with a dark head. Chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, molasses, coffee. Full soft body. Complex brew that is very well softened together. Nothing overpowers. Not too bold but powerful enough to be noticed. Great.

22oz Bottle at 2017 RIS tasting. Inky black pour small tight tan head. Nice smooth aroma, wood, vanilla,. Taste picks up with some gentle sweetness, slick and slippery. Not too strong, but bursting with complex flavors, delicious through and through.

I have wanted to try this for a long time but it ended up disappointing me. +++ Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a small foamy off-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was maple, molasses, toffee and dark fruit. The flavor was molasses, maple wood, cherry and fig. Long wood, molasses and maple finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth.
