Dry hopped double brown ale
It’s not very often a beer gets made to specifically showcase malts, but we have always liked being a little different. Good Humans is a very big and bold Brown Ale that is also dry-hopped with Simcoe and Golding hops. This beer is full of flavor and feelings including caramel, toffee, mild hop bitterness, and the awareness that we are all in this together. Drink a Good Humans and be a good human.

Bottle at Craigs big Edinburgh tasting, this bottle courtesy of ’Craig’, thanks mate. Shared in company of Craig, Stella, Jan, Charlotte, Fritz and Loz 30.10.10 There is a rather soapy nose to this beer, soft fizziness in mouth and the appearance is a hazy mid brown colour with filmy light beige head. Likeable beer but a bit boozy and overbearing at times, some warmth from the alcohol showing, bit of a tang also noted. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

12oz bottle via trade with HopBurp. Pours a transparent, nut brown with a creamy, lightly lacing white head. My girlfriend takes the first swig and says, "oh, this smells like an IPA." She’s right, lemons, pine, grapefruit, floral with some light sweetness. Aroma reminded me of Racer5 from Bear Republic. As the beer warms there’s a nuttiness that starts to emerge. Close your eyes though, and you’d swear you’re drinking an IPA. Flavor is a nice mix of sweetness, pears, cookies, malts, caramel and bitter, limes, oranges, grapefruit, pine. The malts are almost bready, like a good loaf of Irish brown bread. Sweet, a little chewy and hearty without being heavy. Finish has some lasting bitterness but also some sweetness to round it out. This was my first beer from Shorts and I was very impressed. This is the type of beer I aspire to brew.

12 oz bottle. Pours red brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops with toasted biscuit and caramel malts. Flavor is very resinous pine backed by citrus, rye, lemon. Peppery herbs creep up in the finish. Well done.
