With its firm, fine pored head, luminous gold and clear gleaming look, it cannot fail to awaken expectations of pure pleasure.
Strong malty nuances and floral hoppiness are imbued with accents of slight fruitiness. Despite its strength, Bergbock is pleasantly mouthcoating, with a powerful, but unobtrusive body. A highly discrete, finely bitter hoppiness transforms into a slight honey sweetness to conclude on a soft, harmonious aftertaste.
A harmonious light bock of character that cannot be put down after the first drink (16.5% original extract and 6.9% alcohol by volume).

Bottle from the brewery. Nice medium gold, small head. Slightly mineral sweet nose. Flavor is wild clover honey, mineral Alpen mountain spring water, sweetness and moderate earthy bitterness. It still tends a bit on the sweeter side; great dessert beer. A bit too much mineral note for my taste, but still good.

500ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy, minimally starchy, malty aroma, whiffs of floral honey. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally starchy, malty, hints of honey, floral honey, mildly bitter, minimally papery, hoppy overtones; lingering finish with mineral addendum. Dissolved sugar enriched, minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Not bad, but can't keep up with Andechs' exquisite Doppelbock.
