Cask at the Rake. It pours hazy brown with a small beige head. The nose is wood, earthy, leaf, dried fruit and caramel. The taste is toast, earth, wood, leaf, mild citrus, cocoa, decent bitterness and mild spice with a very dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A bit underwhelming, given it’s Thornbridge. OK...

Cask, half, served in a mug at Craft Beer Co, Islington. A clear amber-brown coloured beer without a head. Caramel malty aroma. The taste is malt-accented with caramel, nuts and chocolate ending with rounded roasted bitterness. Nice (London, 26.11.2012).

Cask @ Hallamshire House, Sheffield 031112
Caramel brown, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - Soft dark toasted malts with a touch of spicy hop
Taste - caramel malts, soft fruity malts, some english spicy hops in there, smooth and balanced
Palate - very soft carb, thin to medium body. Finish as main flavour, soft malts
Overall - Easy going competent ale, to be honest I found this a little dull for Thornbridge
