Who doesn’t love a cherry milkshake? It’s certainly a bit rebellious when you add sour cherries and hops to a crowd favourite, but if it tastes like this one who will argue?

Light amber pour, small white head. Aroma is canned cherry pie filling, mixed with cherry jolly ranchers, and hints if vanilla. Mouth feel and carb are fine. Finish is low to medium bitter, with a pithy bitterness. Vanilla adds alot of sweetness to the finish and the cherry falls to the background. Notes of citrus, and grass, with light cereals.

This beer is quite poorly rated, but shouldn’t be sooo bad. The cherry is quite mild, and the backing ipa is quite mild and smooth. Sk variety pack

Can: Poured a cloudy pale reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of syrupy cherry notes with gross sugar is not very enticing. Taste is amess with flavoured cherry juice notes that are mix in with cough syrup notes with some slightly bitter hops notes. Body is full with OK carbonation. I can’t believe the quality control level if this beer was even allowed to be released.

Part of Across the Nation Collaboration Out West 2018. Pours a slight-hazed, light golden-amber colour with a big frothy warm cap, good retention and some dirty foamy-soapy lacing. Smells more like a pumpkin brew with the spices and all. Same for the taste. Really feel like pumpkin puree more than the cherry juice. No sign of vanilla, lactose. Maybe some oat like the ingredients lists. Some average bitterness from decent hops in the background. How can this be a milkshake IPA when it is not NE-style juicy?? Pretty sure they put their pumpkin beer in the wrong can. Other than that, a pretty good Halloween IPA.

Can from the LCBO. Pat of the Across the Nation collaboration pack (2018, West). Cloudy medium amber with a small lingering white head that leaves some patchy lace. Nose is dark cherry, honey, biscuit, vanilla, grass and cinnamon. Light malt sweetness with a medium- cherry tartness and a hint of grassy bitterness with cinnamon in the finish. Mouth is medium- and creamy with slightly soft carbonation. Interesting in and odd way (or odd in an interesting way...) 6/3/5+/3/12

Modest orange and white foam on top. Has an aroma of detergenty hops and musk. Flavour is lots of coriander and chai and hippy stuff that makes it weird, like chai tea. Medium finish. Very mixed brew here, lots of vanilla and coriander and kind of a mess. But oh well, bottom's up.

Mooch tasting, can
Hazy light amber colour with red/copper hue. Aroma of cherry and vanilla, mild. Sweet mouthfeel, some biscuity malt notes, more cinnamon than vanilla, touch of cherry jam, and correct bitterness level.
Weird beer, but can't say it was badly made, just a strange idea; indeed it's a cake beer.

Can - Cherry and cinnamon. Clear gold with a small white head. Pastry and baking spices. Not sure I really get the cherry and definitely don’t get any IPA like quality.

Hazy, light amber. Thin head. Light cherry note, some cheesy-piney hops and the malts come across the nose as if they are going to be chewy. This tastes like cherries and cinnamon, with a touch of lactose. Thicker, rounded finish. The bitterness comes through quite a bit, cutting down the sweeter elements. Not necessarily to great effect, but it makes for a better take on milkshake IPA for my jaded palate.

341mL can, pours a hazy creamsicle colour with a small white head. Aroma brings out light lactose, a touch of cherry, and citrus hops. Flavour is sort of cinnamon-like, with light cherries, lactose, and light citrus hops. Lots of spicy cinnamon here. A strange one.
