Pluum is a dry-hopped, foeder-aged sour plum ale brewed with elderberry and salt. The use of both Damson and Mirabelle plums from B.C.'s interior evoke aromas of ripe pit fruit while the addition of Brett L adds a nice layer of funk. Juicy and tart with a saliferous warming mouthfeel.

Slightly hazy amber pour, with a large white head. Funky, acidic, light vinegar, fruit cocktail cherries, fruit syrup, oak, vanilla, loads of character. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a soft yet lively carb. Finish is slightly tart, loads of fruit, solid plum, woody, earthy, low bitterness, funky and tart. Great stuff.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a large slightly-off-white foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some rustic malt and some light plum notes is really enjoyable. Taste is also a very-well balanced mix of tart notes with some floral rustic malt notes, light Brett with some fresh plum notes with no noticeable acidity. Body is about average with good carbonation. Super enjoyable saison with plum notes providing extra refreshing notes.

Slightly hazy amber color. Acetone and plum in the nose. A touch of oak and touch of salt in the nose. The mouth is over carbonated, modestly sour, but a bit heavy. Don’t like the mouthfeel. Salty plum finish. Very average

Bottle into a taster showing opaque medium amber with sparse white foam. The nose shows light notes of vinegar and hints of brett and malt. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with moderately intense flavors of apricot and mild brett with hints of plum.

750 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/copper color with light head. Aromas of plum skins, musty grapes, and toasted malts. Flavors of tart fruit skins. The Brett still needs to kick in.

On tap at Parallel 49, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh, tart plum, with a nice saison yeast expression. Flavour is bright, with lots of tart citrus, fresh plum, and a great saison yeast expression. Bright and nicely structured. Not incredibly deep, but it's bright and tasty.

Taster at Alibi. Pours a bit dirty hazu golden with a white head. Aroma is fruity with barrel notes. Almost similar taste that is more on the wood and herbal side, though. It is not that complex as I would expect, a bit ascorbic. Quite good, but not spectacular.

Cloudy amber colour with pink hue. Nice delicate fruity aroma, medium body strength, pleasant sour fruitiness, mild tannins, and some vegetable bitterness in the finish. If I think of it as a digestive liquor, it's quite good.

@ Alibi. Hazy amber, thin head. Light plum nose, barrel accent, light brett note. Nice fruity depths, lovely bright plum character, earthy wood depths, light acidity in the finish. Quality brew...been a while since Four Winds dropped something like this.
