We're happy to re-introduce Jester King / Mikkeller Drink'in the Sunbelt -- Hoppy Wheat Beer!

Originally brewed in 2011, we decided to bring it back this summer. Drink'in the Sunbelt is a riff on Mikkeller's Drink'in the Sun. The 2020 beer is brewed with
Blacklands Malt Silver Star Two Row, malted and flaked wheat, and flaked oats. Kettle hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe, then dry-hopped with more Amarillo and Simcoe, and Citra cryo. Fermented with Hornindal Kviek yeast. Packaged in 16oz. cans on August 27th. 5.3% ABV.

Can. Cloudy yellowish orange with a large white head. Aroma of Meyer lemon, crackers, spices. Soft texture. Gently sweet with citrus, spices and discreet bitterness. Nice wheaty tanginess. Very refreshing, slightly intriguing.

Bottle thanks to Adam. Pours a clear white gold with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong grape, oak, wheat. Thin, grape, wheat, crisp, crushable, good.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a cloudy yellow with a medium frothy hea that lasts awhile. The aroma is citrus wheat and fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a fruity citrus light hop with a nice crisp finish. Easy to drink, a good wheat from Jester King.

750mL bottle drunk 5/20/15
Another great appearance from Jester king; huge, fluffy white head is very well-retained atop a ripe peach-colored body with high clarity, leaving sediment in the bottom.
Pure, wonderfully done amarillo in the nose. Heavily floral with just a touch of sweet tangerine and light lime. They are quite uninterrupted by the malts, which, on account of the very low acidity, need very little sweetness to balance. House yeast adds a touch of minerality that is very enjoyable, almost like warm well water. Soft orange blossom-like aromatics continue as it warms while just a touch of light caramel emerges from the cara malt.
Very similar flavor profile, hop-forward but with a complete lack of acidity. Very impressive. Wheat gives a softness to the body, though there is a bit of hardness from the carared (wish they’d left that out, but then, I pretty much never like cara malts in light to mid strength beers). Other than that, it’s just a flowery, soft, incredibly drinkable beer with much more flavor than you’d ever expect for its size. No alcohol or flaws. Everything I’ve had from these guys that hasn’t been oxidized to all hell has been outstanding.

Pours clear light/medium yellow with a large fluffy white head. Sticky, soapy lace. Fragrant, spicy, floral aroma. The flavor is somewhat dry, spicy, softened. Easy drinking, but nothing really going on that interests me.

The beer pours a hazy honey color with a medium white head that burns away steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, tropical fruit and wheat. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet fruit, herbal hops and wheat. The finish is fruity up front with a grassy hops and wheat aftertaste. Above average overall.
