A hazed dark amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with dark fruits, vinous character, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich. On tap at brewery.

Bottle from the brewery
Dark amber color. Mild bourbon aroma. The base is not really a Barley Wine, more of a strong boozy ale, with not enough malt depth, some caramel, some toffee, and then some bourbon. Boozy again the final.
When you consider the price, not worth it.

Poured from 650mL bottle (2017). Dark mahogany brown with beige head. Alcohol dominant with mild caramel and subtle dried fruit, hint of hops. Despite being quite unrefined and in your face, it does have a decent balance to it.

650ml bottle at Matt's. Pours a hazy brown with a tan head. Aroma is barrel with fruity notes. Taste is similar. Fairly good.

Hazy, light brown, thin head. There's a little bit of alcohol on the nose, with a hint of brown sugar, and a fair bit of date-raisin malts. Pretty heavy barrel note, actually. Sweet, brown sugar, has a little bit of acid balance - like just a touch low ph, not actually tart. Vibrant might be a better word. Pretty good.

650mL bottle, pours an opaque cloudy dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out boozy whiskey barrels, caramel and harsh hops. Flavour is bold, with tons of booze, plenty of caramel and hops to balance. Nicely balanced. It's a brutal, bold beer, but nicely done for what it is, even if not refined that well.
