Aged for 48 months in a whiskey barrel, and matured with sherry flor - the same yeast responsible for the production of sherry. Aromas of toasted nuts, dried fruit and sticky toffee with a warming, oaky, booze-y finish. Unfiltered.

Draught at the brewery
Murky brown color. Aroma of alcohol, apples, nail polish, hazelnut, malt; weird. Sweet, no carbonation, the alcohol is strong, violent sherry and wine character, unfortunately followed by some chemicals too. The finish is quite burning.
Funny experiment, but they should have blended this to tone it down.

Draft - Raisin and intense sherry notes. Murky brown with a decent beige head. Sweet, light sourness, Raisin and booze. Much like a sherry, nutty, toast and sweetness. If you like sherry this is it.

Taster at the brewery. Leftovers from the barleywine festival that took place 10 days ago. Drank as BW aged in sherry barrels for 48months. It looks liks a shit, totally same as 2014 BBA BW, hehe. Aroma is very fruity and boozy with sherry and woody notes. Taste is very boozy with some herbal and slight nail polisher notes. Some nuts are in here too. Similar aftertaste with some chocolate notes in aftertaste. Not that good as regular BW aged for 48 months, but it is still interesting.

Really ugly, alcohol. Sherry, sticky raisiny sherry. Same character. Sloppy base beer but this is a lot of fun. The power of the sherry character is actually a bit suspect.

On tap. Pours a muddy brown with no head. Aromas of sweet sherry/Madeira, oak and milk chocolate. Flavors of boozy sweet sherry. Somewhere underneath are raisins and toasted oak. Way too much sherry and a bit of a mess.

On tap at Parallel 49, pours a deep dark mahogany / dirty brown with a tiny head. Aroma brings out lots of sherry barrels upfront, booze, and caramel. Flavour is fairly oxidized, with sherry barrels, booze, and caramel. Quite heavily oxidized but I think it works. Flawed but enjoyable.
