Bottle at the June DC Rate Beer tasting. Poured a nearly black color with a touch of cola to it. Aroma was toasted malts, with a little bit of roast, alcohol is present. Nice roasted chocolate, some barrel. Little bit of vanilla. A really nice simple imperial barrel aged Porter.

50cl bottle, 2019 vintage, pours a murky black with some spitty, grey head. Nose has malt, booze, chocolate, brown sugar, some spice. Flavors follow, malt and booze, chocolate, vanilla, some spice. Full bodied but smooth too.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, small head. Aroma of bourbony oak and dark chocolate. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and caramel, some coffee - nice presences of bourbony oak. Mildly peppery finish. Classy!

ABV: 11.5%. Clear dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, barrel - wood, barrel - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, barrel - wood, barrel - vanilla - bourbon, chocolate, dark malt, roasted. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20210514]

Black and oily with thin head. Aroma has some bay leaf and vanilla. Flavour starts bittersweet with vanilla and roasted malts. Finishes with treacle. Nicely bitter. Not overly sweet.
